Application

The HWD Series power supplies are designed to be used on the lab bench or for a system application. The HWD Series provides full rated voltage or current at any setting, without the need for derating. The availability of RS485 and RS232 programming options makes the HWD Series a versital systems test instrument. Digital voltmeter and ammeter provide accurate readings of the output voltage and current without the need of external DVMs.

Specifications

Input: 105-125 Volts AC 50 to 60 Hz single phase.
Output: See specific model in table.
The output is floating and either side may be grounded.
LoadRegulation: See Table. Regulation is for a full load step.
Line Regulation: See table. Regulation is for a line change from 105 to 125 or 125 to 105 VAC.
Ripple: Less than 1 millivolts RMS.
Response Time: The output voltage is within regulation limits in less than 100 microseconds for a 1/2 load step.
The output voltage will remain within regulation limits for line step from 105 to 125 or 125 to 105 VAC.
Remote Sensing: To allow for point of load regulation all units are provided with remote sense terminals at the rear.
Remote Programming: All units are voltage programmable at approximately 1000 ohms /Volt except Model HWD400-0.5B which is programmable at 400 ohms/volt.
Series/Parallel Operation: Two or more units may be operated in series. Two units of the same voltage and current may be operated in parallel.
Temp. Coef.: 0.02%/ degree C.
Stability: Better than 0.05%/8 hours at constant line, load and temperature, after 1/2 hour warm up.
Operating Temperature: 0°C to +50°C at any combination of line, load and temperature including continuous operation at 125 VAC and full load without the need for external cooling.
Terminations: Barrier strip terminals are provided at the rear for output, sensing, remote programming, and ground.
5 Way binding posts are provided on the front panel for output and ground.
A seven foot 3 wire line cord provides for AC input.
Protection: The power supply is protected by a fuse in the input line.
The output of the supply is protected by means of the fully adjustable solid state current limiting feature.
Panel Controls: Digital Voltmeter, ammeter, 10 turn voltage control, 10 turn current control, pilot light and on/off switch, Five way binding posts.
The voltage level is fully adjustable by means of a 10 turn panel voltage adjust potentiometer
Finish: The standard front panel and chassis finish is light blue. Cover is dark blue.
Size: 4-1/2" high x 8" wide x 14" deep. Two units can mount in a 19" wide x 5-1/4" panel. See option 10 and 11 below.
