The DIGITIZER is developed as a "stand alone system" with imbedded computer system and with 1 Gb Ethernet link for file transfer. The computer system is a windows based industrial computer.
The main parts of the system are the two CCD-cameras for digitisation. The first camera takes a shot of the whole fiche/jacket for the automatic frame detection. The high-resolution camera does the digitisation of the images. Each image will be optimised in contrast during this process and stored after document treatment like cropping and descewing as a 8-bit greyscale image.
