Spectrum Signal Processing by Vecima is a leading developer of software defined solutions. Spectrum's products and services address a range of communications and intelligence gathering applications, including military communications, signals intelligence, electronic warfare and satellite communications applications. Spectrum's integrated, application-ready products provide its customers with compelling time-to-market and performance advantages while reducing both program risk and cost.

Technology
Spectrum's software defined radio solutions range from signal processing boards to reconfigurable radio subsystems that can be tailored to meet unique end-user requirements. The company's rapid-prototyping and development platforms accelerate its customers' development by providing integrated hardware, software and firmware systems along with application-specific software examples. Spectrum's modified commercial-off-the-shelf (MCOTS) process can then transition customers from laboratory and prototype systems into field-ready production units, optimizing for the size, weight, power and rugged requirements of the deployment environment. These products are complemented by domain-specific applications engineering services, comprehensive training and technical support services and product life cycle and component/configuration management services that can accelerate customers' design initiatives and sustain the products throughout their deployment.

Product Line
Spectrum's flexComm™ product portfolio provides all the building blocks required by high-performance software defined radio platforms. flexComm products are standards-based and field upgradeable, ensuring investment preservation and migration. Designed with flexibility, modularity and scalability in mind, Spectrum solutions can be easily adapted to changing and evolving requirements. These include a comprehensive range of signal processing hardware, analog-to-digital converters, and a powerful communications fabric to interconnect these elements. The hardware is accompanied by Spectrum's comprehensive software stack. It starts with Spectrum's quicComm™ software, a hardware abstraction middleware layer that allows developers to rapidly comprehend and exploit the features of the hardware. It also includes additional standards-based middleware, an operating system and an application framework. This hardware and software portfolio has been designed using a mix and match approach that allows Spectrum to tailor platforms to best meet its customers' needs.

Spectrum has used its depth of application knowledge to create preconfigured, integrated rapid-prototyping and development platforms for specific applications Each platform can dramatically reduce the number of interfaces that customers need to assess, thereby reducing cost, schedule and technical risks. By offering integrated solutions, Spectrum has the ability to compress sales cycles and add real value to its customers.
