Del-Tron Precision announced that it has made available movable 3D images and downloadable CAD models of its complete linear bearing product line through its web site. Design engineers can visit www.deltron.com, browse or search product listings and then click on a link to see a realistic solid model of any product that can be panned, rotated, and zoomed to examine it from any angle. Users can also view complete specifications of every product and download CAD models in a wide range of formats. Users of AutoCAD mechanical design software can even directly insert product CAD models into their drawings without downloading. The 3D image and CAD file download capabilities on Del-Tron's website are provided by CADRegister.com, an online resource provided by the publishers of Thomas Register®, and can also be accessed through that site.
"The new capabilities provide the opportunity for engineers using linear bearings to save substantial amounts of time," said Edward Keane, Vice President of Marketing for Del-Tron Precision. "Customers can browse or search for our products either on our web site or on the CADRegister.com web site. They will be able to view our products from any angle, zoom in on features of interest, switch to a wireframe view that lets them see inside the product, and obtain complete part dimensions and other specifications. This will help them quickly determine if the product fits their need. Once the customer has selected a part, they usually want more detailed design information. In that case, then they can download a 3D model of the product in any of almost 100 different formats, including native files from all the most popular CAD systems as well as major neutral file formats such as IGES and Parasolids."
